A collection of healthy homemade Halloween treats from Apron Strings Archives!
The time is almost nigh for one of my favorite holidays. We all love to have a few bona-fide treats at Halloween, but many of us like to try and stay the course with (mostly) health conscious fare otherwise. With a little over a week left, we thought this would be a fine time to share a few of our favorite healthy Halloween posts. Let’s kick it off with one of our most popular (and adorable) recipes . . .
These Carrot Rice Ball Jack O’Lanterns are guaranteed to be a hit on any party platter – with no added sugar to boot.
These chewy, chocolatey, high-protein, no-refined-sugar Halvah Balls are packed with nutrition from both sunbutter and sesame.
No, not THAT kind of spider egg. *shudder* These olive-topped deviled eggs are as nutritious as they are on-thematic point.
Salted Caramel Fudge (be still, my pancreas): decadent homemade candy for any time of year (Halloween is just the current excuse). And hey, using coconut palm sugar dials down the sugar-bomb impact.
Need something more substantial to bring to a gathering, or perhaps to keep your own stamina up for serving trick or treaters? This Roasted Pumpkin and Garlic Soup could be the savory solution.
Popcorn balls are as quaint as traditional treats come – here’s a version that dials down the refined sugar (and remains both fun and delicious).
And finally, these Yam O’Lanterns (Jack O’Yamterns?) are as simple and easy as it gets. And they get all the #healthy superlatives: Gluten-free, grain-free, vegan, paleo, dairy-free, sugar-free, whole foods, yadda yadda yadda. More importantly, silly. And did I mention easy?
No matter what you decide to make have a HAPPY HALLOWEEN 2015!
