Real Fruit Spritzer Recipe for your Fourth Of July Festivities
June 18, 2012 in Holidays
I really didn’t know what to name this recipe. Too many possibilities: Star Spangled Spritzer? Patriotic Punch? Whole Fruit Fruit Punch? Fruit Scented Sparkler?
Whatever you call it, let me tell you, it is a revelation of epic porportions – just in time for the Fourth of July. It is light, fresh, sweet and refreshing. Oh yes – and healthier than dried powder and sugar from a can. A refreshing to your body and soul kind of drink.
The “secret” is in smashing the fruit chunks to release their flavor into the drink. And strawberries, blueberries and pineapple are a flavor match made in heaven.
Here is the ENTIRE recipe (I Know. So easy. Why didn’t I think of this before?):
1) Place a few strawberries, blueberries and chunks of pineapple in a glass. 2) Muddle the fruit by mashing it with a wooden spoon or muddler (if you have fancy barkeep type equipment). 3) Toss in some ice cubes and bits of the aforementioned fruits. 4) Pour in a favorite ginger ale or lemon lime soda. 5) Sip on your veranda whilst lounging in a swing or Adirondack chair, fanning yourself with a paper fan southern belle style. Ok, that last step is optional. But so fun.
These are a delightful way to add a fresh fruity cold liquid deliciousness to your Fun on The Fourth picnic/barbecue/fireworks display.
Happy Fourth, all you patriots!
