Five minute festive bites for the Fourth of July!
Five minutes is all it takes to make these festive strawberry bites. They are so pretty on a platter – and healthy too.
I haven’t decided if these are appetizers or dessert bites, but you could use them for either, really. They make perfec t dessert bites if you add a touch of sweetener to the cream cheese.
Four ingredients is all it takes to make these summery bites. And just a few minutes. The cream cheese can be plain or you can add a touch of your favorite sweetener. I grated some lemon zest over the tops, but you could skip this step if you’re not a fan of lemon zest. I like the brightness it adds, so I add citrus zest to lost of dishes.
The Kellys are fans of festive foods – and what better time of year than the Fourth of July to make pretty red, white and blue food? Check out this flag fruit skewer platter with lemon curd sauce. And even beverages can be festive – as in Real Fruit Spritzers.
Summer produce just lends itself to red, white and blue colors – strawberries and blueberries especially. When I walk by them at the produce section of my store, they just scream out to me: Make festive food!
